This Cookie Policy explains how StorySpun LLC ("StorySpun," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies on our website and in the customer portal. It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read together with it.

1. What Cookies and Local Storage Are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your browser so it can recognise you on later visits — for example, to keep you logged in or to remember a shopping cart between pages. Local storage is a similar browser technology that stores data on your device but, unlike cookies, is never transmitted to a server.

Cookies fall into two broad categories: strictly necessary cookies, without which core features of the site cannot function; and non-essential cookies, which are used for analytics, personalisation, or advertising. StorySpun uses only strictly necessary cookies.

2. Cookies and Storage Used by StorySpun

The complete inventory of cookies and browser storage items set by StorySpun is listed below.

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

portal_session — A JSON Web Token (JWT) that keeps you signed in to the customer portal. Set as an HTTP-only cookie with a 30-day expiry. Without this cookie you cannot access your portal, download completed stories, or use creator features.
storyspun_cart — A base64-encoded JSON record of the credit packs and subscriptions you have added to your cart on the Buy Credits page. Expires 24 hours after the last cart edit. Without this cookie your cart would reset between page loads.

2.2 Browser Local Storage

The admin console (not used by end customers) persists a single sidebar-collapsed preference in browser local storage. That value stays on your device and is never transmitted to StorySpun servers or any third party.

2.3 Third-Party Cookies and Trackers

StorySpun does not set or embed any third-party advertising cookies, social media pixels, behavioural-advertising tags, or analytics cookies. We do not share browsing activity with advertising networks, and we do not participate in cross-site behavioural tracking.

Payment pages are hosted by Stripe, Inc. and may set cookies governed by Stripe's own cookie policy while you are on a Stripe-hosted page; those cookies are outside StorySpun's control.

3. How You Can Control Cookies

Every modern browser lets you review, block, or delete cookies through its settings menu (typically under Privacy or Site Settings). Because the cookies listed above are strictly necessary, blocking them will prevent you from signing in to the portal or using the cart. We do not serve non-essential cookies, so there is nothing for you to opt out of for advertising or analytics purposes.

4. Consistency With Our Privacy Policy

This Cookie Policy is consistent with the disclosures in our Privacy Policy, including those made for GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California) users. Because StorySpun does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising and does not set analytics or advertising cookies, there is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" setting required for our cookie usage. You retain all rights described in the Privacy Policy regardless of your browser cookie settings.

5. Changes to This Policy

If we ever introduce new cookies or tracking technologies, we will update this page and, where required by law, seek your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
